We have booked a huge place in the Duddon valley. Lots of folk who said they would come have cried off. Its in a fantastic spot and great for the fell race. There are bedrooms and a dorm as well as a big kitchen. If any runner et al are interested in some accommodation at £10 a night Friday or Saturday or both then mail me and I can give you the directions etc.

...i can't think of a better place in the world to take the bus of shame or walk down the road...
I think it would be a walk - the exact wording on the website is:NB The Three Shires Stone Checkpoint will close 2hours after the start. The organiser cannot take responsibility for competitors who are timed out.

2 hours to the 3 shire stone is quite generous though - at least i thought so when marshalling on Lingmoor one year!

Making the cut-off in time is my sole aim.... the time for the rest of the race is irrelevant as long as I finish!

Looking forward to this on Saturday, coincides nicely with a week staying in Coniston. Hopefully the weather will be kind to us. Will i be ok leaving some warm kit at the start/finish area?
I see the Inov8 expensive mountain race the next day has been posponed, no reason is given on their site...

Don't worry about the red face it tends to come after the first 50m or so then stays all day

It says in the news about the parking and change to the start that "We shall have a large tent at the start", which I was assuming was a place to leave kit but I wouldn't mind knowing for sure too.
