There was talk of the runner with a broken leg before the Prize giving but when Selwyn said it was Steve my jaw dropped. I had brief chat with Steve at the start and was looking forward to a pint at the end.

Absolutely gutted for you mate, I hope you will have a speedy recovery. I hope the team looked after you well.

Yes Steve is a member of the MR.

Owee, Owee, Ow - double fracture - that doesn't sound good - poor old Amex - I take it Wet Side Edge was living up to it's name?

It wasn't all bad for Steve, he did have Mountain Goatess for company after she heard his cries and went to help keep him warm!

Many thanks to all involved with getting him of the fell and also for, I think, Wheezing Donkey, for driving his car home

Are you sure? As I understand it they are:-
    CP 1 : GR 288011 Wetherlam
    CP 2 : GR 273006 Swirl How
CP 3 : GR 277027 Three Shires Stone
    CP 4 : GR 272042 Pike O’Blisco
    CP 5 : GR 293043 Footbridge
    CP 6 : GR 303046 Lingmoor
CP 7 : GR 319039 Gate nr Dale End Farm
But I've always gone to the gate before heading up left. I think a few people went up earlier in the last couple of races but I didn't see anyone doing it today - I've never reccied an earlier line and I'm not sure about how that line would cross the wall, whether there is a stile or gate - a specific request not to cross any walls was emphasised today so I wasn't tempted to try it. Sorry to hear about Amex's injury hope you are soon back on your feet.
And as ever thankyou Selwyn and all others involved for such a great race, one of my favourites.

Probably best to play that down, Deejay. Amex won't want a divorce as well as a broken leg.

Seriously though, I'm so sorry to hear about the Big Fella's injury. He has a legendary capacity for jollity and good craic but that's a major downer for anyone. I wish you a speedy recovery, Steve.

Well done that Goatess, sounds like you were a bit of a heroine.

Bestathlete, was it you I met twice when you expressed surprise at seeing a Baildon vest on the fells?
