Had a quick visit with Steve in the RLI yesterday afternoon ( did not want to intrude for too long, he had quite a family gathering around him, obviously a much loved fella ) as I only live 400 - 500 yards away.
His foot is now back in line with his leg and everything has been "pinned, plated and screwed".
Here's hoping that you make a full recovery Steve, althought it is unlikely to be a "quick" one!
The lovely Mountain Goatess, my mate Andy Farmer ( Fiendsdale R.O.) and I were amongst first half dozen to get up to Steve ( from the 3 Shires Stone ) when he started "screaming and hollering". When I saw the state of his ankle with his foot dangling to one side, I must confess that I nearly "yodelled for Hughie". Andy F played a blindered, ran down to the road, grabbed somebody's cell-phone then hot-footed up Wetside Edge to get a signal and got the first call into 999/Police to alert the MRT.
Donkey - you're on Leave!!! Can you access you work mythers remotely or do I have to resort to PM-ing on here?!! x

hmm it must follow you around Ian, you'll be getting a reputation like me. I seem to remember you being around when i had a hypo cas on the Skyline.

Last I heard Steve has another Op tomorrow.

Hi Ian, certainly seems a bit creepy!! Steve's case was visually more gruesome; but the Edale hypo was far more scarey, as I related to MG on the way down Wrynose Pass, with the casualty drifting in & out of consciousness, all delirious & hallucinating. When you kept nipping to the top of the knoll to obtain a radio signal, there were times when I thought that you would return to find me attempting to massage some heat into a corpse!!

I really hope Amex is treated promptly by the NHS and given all the access to rehab programs that is available, my mum's just been through the mill with Gall Bladder problems culminating in a Pancreas infection and all Jimmy's did was mess around and delay her treatment. After she went yellow and collapsed in Orkney they operated on her there and then at Aberdeen and the consultants were horrified to learn how she'd been messed around and passed here and there in Leeds. Just a postcode lottery or something i guess, once they know you're not going to die on them you start getting moved back down the queue.
