I'm in the solo class as well, looks like it might be a lot colder than last year so warm jacket going in the pack for the chilly night ahead.

Yeah, looks a bit nippy. Good conditions for running though. Bought a top bag this week... hoping it does the job overnight!

I used a single skin tent last year, I wont make that mistake again Very cold ended up using my survival bag as well so ended up wet and lukewarm till it was daybreak.

Really? I've used single skin tents (Vango Ultralite) and found them really really warm.

All the best for the weekend! Jealous I can't be there!

I'm out as well. Gutted, been looking forward to this for some time.

Oh well, there's always next year.

Well... that was tough. Finished on 360 for the weekend. Made a big over estimation on day 1 going from Hayeswater up Hartsop Dodd and then round for the 50 pointer on Ulswater. What I thought would be a long, steady track run was a pretty rough, undulating slog! And no end of walkers/children/dogs to dodge along the way. 225 for the day, but 15 lost for being 9 minutes over... I had to sprint the last couple of hundred metres to get in before the 10+ minute big penalties kicked in.

Day 2 I was more conservative in light of the previous day's expolits, but then ended up with 42 spare minutes. Had toyed with going out of my way for a 25 pointer and thought better of it... shame as it turned out I probably would've got it ok. 150 for the day. So at least 40 points lost over the weekend that another time I might've got, but I guess everyone suffers the same over/under estimation and frustration of potential points lost.

I got to the 50 pointer early on and was heading for the stream junction below the knott when common sense kicked in. it was a long way round the OOB area and there was no way I would have made it back in time. Still a poor first day for me 195 points but went really well on the second 170 I think and could have had another 40 if I'd of had the bottle to go for it. But thats what these thing do to you run all weekend and be 15 minutes late and the whole event has been thrown away.

Good event though with excellent wether. Campsite was excellent, we had our own private stream in the far corner of the field. But the night was a bit too chilly for a good nights sleep.

We had a cracking weekend. Played it far too safe on Saturday and limped home on day Sunday but enjoyed some Quality time in the Lakes.
