Back home now after a five hour trip. What a great weekend. Jos Naylor award on Saturday night in Wasdale then played my part in bringing Mercia V50 team home for the silver Medal. .

Well Done Dale, while you were dashing up to the relays we were out for a walk with Joss

Funniest moment of the day for me was when the tannoy announcer said that Edinburgh Uni Leg 1 runners were just entering the finish field, at which point their Leg 2 runner made a rapid dash from the marquee at the top of the field and just made it to the change-over point in time.

Funnier still was when one of the HBT leg 3 pair was still in the portaloo in the warm-up/changeover area as their leg 2 runner came in.

What price Borrowdale?
Will they travel well or do they only perform in their own back yard?

Can't have travelled that badly. 1st Vets Team , beating Dark Peak by more than 12 mins and fastest Vets legs on all four legs !!!!!

I just wonder as someone who would have done it had I been able to run and I reccied in the Summer and ran the Lomonds of Fife race so am interested to see if my prep would have stood me in good stead.

They dont have much young blood coming through in the club really, they usually scout off other clubs so watch out ino one of our members was asked if he wanted to join Borrowdale luckily he declined.

I bet most clubs will be pretty envious of Borrowdales achievements this year-2nd in the British open, 1st in the vets, won the Hodgson outright for the 14th year on the trot, won the vets team at the fra's and some very good individual performances throughout the year. I dont know which runners you are referring to that have been poached from other clubs but you're obviously an expert on the subject so spill the beans.

Theres no disputing the fact that they have been the most success British fell running club, but will they be that way in say 10-15 years time ??, the runner im referring to was Chris newman a friend of mine from the club.
