Mine know when it's dinner or breakfast time, but otherwise I think time's pretty irrelevant if you spend as much time as they do asleep!

But food time could be anytime - they don't care. Dark or light outside they don't care. Sleep day or night, makes no difference. They seem to live in the moment and have no care about time.................

Seems fine to me Ady, can only back up what jtinnion says about foooood time. They know when that is Although I think even that is only the regular rumblings of their fat tummies has fallen into a pattern of coinciding with when I get up and come home.

One of the local cats has worked out how to get through our cat flap by lifting it up with its paw (its locked for entry from outside the house). I reckon it was watching our cat do it and it learned from him. As a result I am feeding 2 cats at the moment. The good news though is that the local cat is getting fatter and fatter (obviously eating at other houses as well!) so won't be able to fit through the flap soon

Does your cat do what ours do and pretend not to notice when the bad cat comes in?

Absolutely! Or it waits for me to shoo the cat out and then it puts in an appearance
