bit quiet tonight, is this the calm before the storm?
You're crazy - i thought about going for a 1am run once in Nottingham but decided it wouldn't be very safe at that time
Where's everyone gone?![]()
Just a check up on the kidneys, good as I managed to hand over my 24hr urine which is used to moniter my biochemistry - eg creatine clearance, Na+ & K+ levels, etc (had hell getting it onto the aircraft with the fluid ban, The guy couldn't believe I'd managed to fill two large containers over the course of 24 hrs.)!!) in the morning, plus get my bloods done, which meant the results were available for analysis that afternoon.
After that went shopping in Liverpool (got some climbing gear which is unobtainable in the IOM), then went to the museum, Walker Art Gallery and the exhibition in St Georges Hall. Had lunch at the hospital and was amazed at how cheap everything was (£2:50 for a full meal!! - tasted good too!!).
Had the appointment in the afternoon, was very pleased when I was told that my bodily function was normal - especially as just before starting the 24hrs, I'd done about 60 miles on the bike, and drank loads (hence filling the two large containers), then raced a fell race the next day, plus I'd been feeling a bit under the weather (normal bugs not anything to do with the kidneys). So from being told 6 years back I'd never be able to compete without serious risk to my kidneys, I've been able to push myself hardish (not as hard as I feel I could though) over the course of two days and have normal levels in my biochemistry!!... :-)
Oh, I'm here. Never far away you know!![]()
No you are not, you've gone now!
