    Re: Todays Training

Did the Aire Valley Challenge Race this morning and came 5th. May have done better if i hadn't mistaken the 10.30 start for an 11am one - luckily checked at 10am on website then had to leg it for 25 mins to get there. They delayed the start by 10 mins anyway but i was dripping with sweat over my entry!

Nice course and a lovely day for it too!

    Week commencing 8/1/06

    Mon
    am 50mins
    pm 56mins

    Tue
    am 42mins
pm 6x1500m cross-country, 60secs recovery. Good - progressed throughout the session. Putting 45secs on the rest of the group on the last three reps.

    Wed
    am 30mins
pm 1h35mins - first hour with Pete

    Thu
am 52mins. Tired from yesterday so ran very very easy.
pm 53mins inc 10min tempo with Pete and Andy, 5:05 per mile. Felt strong.

    Fri 50mins

    Sat
    am 30mins
pm Manchester Cross Country League Race. 1st. Good - fitness has moved on a lot in the last two weeks and I feel I'm back to where I was before my break now. Was a good race with Simon Mills, Carl Hardman and Steffan North (who were all well ahead of me when I dropped out the Sale 5 less than two weeks ago) but once I made my move with a mile remaining it was pretty decisive.

Sun 2h07 with Matt and Ian. Me and Matt really cracked on in the last 15mins.

    Weekly Mileage: 108

Same as last Sunday - 13+ miles over the downs, only this time it was in bright sunshine and not too much wind.

    Cheers - Raymond
