I am stupidly excited for this one. Good luck one and all.
I will be searching out Forumites as usual so you'll be on the radar Will. Also hoping to catch a quick hello with Steve/Amex at some point, as well as Dave Tait marshalling (although I might be a bit worse for wear by that point). If anybody spots a Dark Peak vest with a lime green helly underneath then don't be shy.
Ian, I'll see you on Monday, meaning I'll have had an extra day to recover...![]()
I'm strangely excited too. Probably as its new terrain for me. Never run in the Pendle area.
I'll probably have a black top on, black wooly hat and might be unshaven and look like I'm about to rob a bank
First time for me tomorrow. How's the going underfoot? Hard paths or mostly open moorland? I'm currently favouring mudclaws but would like to get away with my talons. Any advice?
Xtalons would be my choice definitely.
Don' think there's any real need for Mudclaw soles except the steepest, slippiest races e.g. Wansfell, where I inflicted my derriere to a fearsome torture! aaah...memories.
Ski Sunday maybe, but there is a path over to the right if you know it!
Never worn my Talons over 5 miles, so it's Roclite 312's for me. They were bob on for The 3 P's this year ! I'll be wearing a red & green Ilkley Harriers vest with an army green Helly underneath. If it's raining, a light blue RAB. It would be nice to put names to faces !
Good luck one & all.
Jez, I wore Talons for the first time in last year's FTOP, straight out of the box, and they were perfect. I would agree that Roclites or similar would be correct for 3Ps - but FTOP, apart from the start and finish, tends to be a) soggy, b) steep, or c) both.
Cheers Tussock, I'll pop 'em in the car now !
See you tomorrow. Are you travelling with Tony Romulus?
(Sorry: that makes him sound like one of The Sopranos!)
