haha! I did have a right rummage around the ambleside website, could only find 2010 results ...

note to self - if in doubt try fellrunner.org.uk ... really didn't know archived results were on there

Doing a search on Google to get directions from Great Langdale campsite to the start of the race (for a recce) it's saying it's about half a mile away.

Is that right?

Or would you have to drive to the start from that campsite?
