Bummer, I too have decided to pull out of the Coniston race and have a nice jog round there instead. Nothing to do with my recent illness, more to do with me looking at last years results and figuring i'd probably be last.

    Well it won't be me

Unless my running picks up this week, so far I have run 0 miles, that's right 0. Might have more idea tonight though

Hamstring trouble and a tendon to right calf displaced apparantly!!!! Went out for 30 mins today but was uncomfortable and stiff so did not enjoy. You get on top of one injury and then up comes another

    Re: Todays Injuries

I've got a pain going from my hip down to my knee and then down the outside of my leg to my ankle!!

It started last Monday and I've ran on it a couple of times, it niggles a bit while I run, but a couple of hours after I'm in real pain!!

I did an hour and a hlaf this morning and I'm now taking pain killers like they're going out of fashion!!

Off to the phyio tomorrow night, I need to get it sorted for next weekend!!

    Re: Todays Injuries

Well, stretching my hamstring did not work - gentle stretching yesterday and I heard it tear some more - I am gutted. Am just going to lay off running for a few weeks, concentrate on the bike and see how it goes. I may have to avoid racing as injury seems to follow closely behind no matter what I do. As long as I can get out and run on the fells that may have to do....

    Sounds like ITB ... ?
I find the foam roller very helpful for ITB.

I went to the physio last night, I can't remember what he said the problem was, but he stuck his elbow into around my hip, which hurts like hell and this normally frees it up.

I had the same problem a few years back and it kept me out for 6 months!

Just emailed the physio and this is the problem.

The problem is in a muscle called gluteus medius which stabilises the hip. Its a bit fatigued and irritable.

I need to get rid of the pain for the weekend!!
