Watched Mamma Mia last night after a stomach bug meant I dipped on XOTF and ended up gate-crashing the girls' night in. Harmless fun.

Then watched Into the Wild; a beautifully shot film, and a very poignant story.

    4 Lions

Very funny but occasionally I wasn't sure if I should be laughing

Sniper: [into walkie-talkie] The bear is down. Repeat, the bear is down.
    [to other sniper]
    Sniper: We got the bear.
    Sniper: I think that's a Wookie. That's a Wookie!
    Sniper: No it's not! It's a bear!
Sniper: [into walkie-talkie] Is a Wookie a bear, Control?

    Armageddon on BBC 3 now.

Rockhound: You know we're sitting on four million pounds of fuel, one nuclear weapon and a thing that has 270,000 moving parts built by the lowest bidder. Makes you feel good, doesn't it?

Someone (BBC ?) had been doing a bit of censoring with the film  Not sure if it was down to political correctness or pre-watershed or it had been cutout before the Beeb got it?

I probably need the inside view from One Hill Wonder

The bit they cutout is in red (Karl is the first astronomer to sight the asteroid)

Karl: Sir, I'm retired navy, I know all about classified. But one more thing. The person that finds her gets to name her right?
    Dan: Yes-yes that's right, that's right.
Karl: I wanna name her Dottie after my wife. She's a vicious life-sucking bitch from which there is no escape.

Watched A-team the other night, quite a good film to watch if you just want to turn your brain off and enjoy the explosions

Watched A-Team over christmas and have to say was pleasantly surprised , although having watched the first 15 mins of " The Expendables " a couple of days earlier , anything would be entertaining !
Anyway , just watched " Kickass " on DVD , which is my favourite action movie of last year . For anyone who hasn't seen it yet , I strongly recommend it , think tarantino meets comic book - super hero with a twist , best action film ever for me !
Loved ' Inception' by the way , even better the second time round !

yep, the most overrated film for decades

dreadful load of over-overinflated, clever-clever, superficial bollocks

who gives a monkey's what happens to any of those characters? they're all so pathetically drawn they may as well be cardboard cutouts

Well worth a watch, it's quite a long film but you don't even notice. Really enjoyed it
