I was down in Derbyshire seeing my family yesterday. If I'd been a bit more organised I could have had a run out

First Post and First Fell Race of 2011 (second ever)

I only started running to loose weight for climbing and now I'm really hooked on Fell Running

My little lad was also really pleased to take part, so I guess there's a new FRA member on the way.

I highly recommend this little race for all the family and its also got a few nice trad routes on the course.

Really enjoyed the new course - something for everyone! Well done to Dave for organising yet another cracking race. Think I prefer this course to the previous ones. Loved watching the kiddies' races before the main ones, some real little fell stars there.

Indeed Lizzy. Have to say seeing the little uns blast off was just the best. Brilliant.
There was 4 x little uns on the front with us just before we set off. I think they got the message when we mentioned that they may be better starting off a little furtherbback. Great enthusiasm though. Not sure why everyone was wrapped up mind. It was quite warm, Not , haha.
    Well done lizzy, great run.

Darn chilly especially as you seemed to have lost any fat you might previously had Mr H. Was told back in the pack a few folks got a little confused when it came to the first muddy section, can't have helped those little ones.

Much better route, much better pub. Top marks to DD.

Hey Daz - Dont know if you remember a few years back (2007 I think - last fell race before I moved to the USA). I got bowled over at the start and trampled on. Got 2 bust ribs for that and the most painful few days ever. You were right beside me at the start when it was a downhill start

I remember that. I think I was on the other side of you, but it wasn't me that took you out!

I remember that, too, and I wasn't even there! My brother was walking his dog in the woods, saw you getting trampled and then wasn't sure if he was allowed to help you up. I think he was concerned you might want to get up and continue the race, but might get disqualified for getting outside assistance!
