THree hours on the rack with the boys Legs tired, knee feels fine, but my @rse wants a divorce now...

Had difficulties staying with them when the speed picked up, but not dissatisfied... Think I haven't lost that much fitness actually

52 miles with a couple of good climbs.

Bizarrely, I bonked at about 40 miles despite being well fuelled. I'm at a loss to suss why it happened, but I'm putting it down to the remnants of the bug I had/the end of a weeks training/getting very cold. Anyhow, I came off the bike as I lost concentration & got in the crap gravel at the side of the road put a good dint in my helmet & picked up some road rash.

Have taken my old - no suspension - mountain bike that I used to commute with off the wall of my garage & put some knobbly tyres on it in preparation of my first cyclocross race next weekend. Never been off-road on a bike in my life :w00t: . Should be a hoot.

    Well done
I managed 52 miles yesterday as well, thats bizarre. It was cold though and my fingers were agonisingly cold towards the end.
I climbed up to black rocks, then to alport heights, then drum hill. Three big climbs but the views were amazing.
Fellrunner hope your okay, be careful.

I nearly cam off big style and have a nice farmer to thank.
I was descending from alport down towards belper, easy over 40 mph when the farmer came towards me on the quad bike and started waving his arms.
I started to tap the brakes, and sailed by him without much thought.

I rounded the next bend to be greeted by a huge sheet of ice were the water had come onto the road. Shut my eyes and slammed on and managed to stop just before it.
That would have been very nasty at 40 odd mph.

Nice bit of Fell biking with my old crosser on Pendle for me , From the Nick up to the summit cairn via Ogden clough then down big end back up the track to the summit then along the ridge past the cairns to the end then took the faint trod on the left which took across back to the main track up from the nick
The ground was hard as concrete and very rough past the scout cairn It dident half make my eyeballs shake!

got a bit of a sniffle

went on first club run (for me) of the year

    39 miles, 3000 odd foot

slow on the ups with out of practice legs

slow on the downs with my descendophobia (including fear of ice, gravel/grit)

will see if it is kill or cure for the cold.

Up and down around n around Longridge fell on the cross bike but not much running, mostly in the saddle as it is all frozen ground and bags of grip
Tougher than climbing on the road and more fun

usual 3 x Richmond Park - 65 mins. Was pleased considering it was just a recovery ride after a hard 20-mile run yesterday.
