Oh good, as due to injury, I will be taking a late fitness test on this one despite running round it on New Years Eve .

How does the Hobble compare with Rombald's Stride? I know it's a bit further but that aside, is it really a lot harder? Is it more for runners than walkers? I'm very tempted, a certain forumite recommends it as preparation for the Fellsman...

Never done Rombalds but hobbled for the last 3 years, it's for anyone who can get round in the time limit (not sure what that is, 12 hours?). Excellent prep for the Fellsman, get yourself entered and enjoy a plod round, time doesn't matter and the longer it takes you, the more time on your feet training for the Fellsman. Good opportunity to experiment with refuelling on the move as well. Good luck PB.

Done both. Hobble definitely harder. Notwithstanding the extra miles, there are a couple of steep, long climbs. one up to Stoodley Pike and one up to Heptonstall. It's a brilliant event.Highly recommend it.

I second Steve! I did it last year in about 7 hours and my longest run until then had been Rombalds. I think you have about 9 hours to get to teh last check point at 28 miles. I reckon you'd be OK, go for it PB!!!
