Tis indeed a captivating race, watched it every year since i saw the film 'A Sunday in Hell' a real 'hard man's race' Would have loved to see George Hincapie win it but it was never to be. Loved it when Roger Hammond got on the podium, British and a likeable lad.

And the greater havoc he perpetrated in recent years during Le Tour de Galles

It is getting a bit boring and repetitive, but two hours at the velodrome this morning and feeling stronger Managed to take about half a minute off last weeks flying 500 TT as well and performing well in the scratch race, tearing it up and being able to sprint for the line at the end as well Got some comments from the blokes: thanks for the tow, good pace, nice long sprint at the end etc etc

I have the feeling I haven't lost much fitness and will soon be back

I think the main thing is you're going to have a very high residual fitness, so it won't take you long to get back up there. Plus you eat healthily and don't drink much so you don't pile on the weight like some other folks round here??

Good call ratfink! I find go out easy on the bike with a head cold (i.e. snotty nose) and it clears it... But if it is below the neck, stay off the bike...

    Easy swim should be ok...

Are you saying you are fat Dom?

Last night I did nearly an hour on the rollers listening to Iggy Pop and Kraftwerk. Then did 90 mins at spin.
Was hard to concentrate as my legs was trashed from Sundays fell race. Ouch.

Well done Hann on getting back into it. Ratfink it wont take long to get back.

Dom def isnt fat, hes smaller than me ?

Put it this way... I'm 2 stone heavier than I was when I was running seriously. I don't particularly want to be that light again, but I reckon I could do with losing a stone!
