How much is the entry for this race Chris so I can get it sent off. I did the Hebden Bridge which was great. Two pieces of really nice chocolate cake at the last check point which was very civilised.
Moo, I'm not the Kevin from Darwen. Sorry to be such a long time commenting on that. My new years resolution was to cut down on technology time. So I ended my internet access at home and only use it occasionaly at work.
The Cumbria Ldwa is doing the three rings of Shap in June which is three separate rings around the fells. The rings are 18 miles, 24 miles or 20 miles and you can do one, two or three rings. The three rings which total 62 miles has to be done in 26 hours. So for people who are thinking of doing the BG it's a good test to see what you've got. The website is http://www.ldwa.org.uk/lgt/web_page.php?c=7&p=26 I'd like to try the BG in 2008 and so getting in these ldwa long distances is a great way of training. I don't underestimate the BG though. After Hebden Bridge I got home at 6pm and was with tired legs having a cup of tea. It occured to me that if doing the BG that day the runner would still only be 10 hours into the run. Thousands of feet of ascent to come and another 14 hours on your feet. Very sobering thought.
I hope to see other forumites at the Rombalds if I get my entry in ok.
