Like the blog Henry. Thats another one I'll keep bookmarked. Seems like ultra runners like writing ultra long blog posts Don't recall seeing you at the race but will say hello at another runfurther race, maybe Osmotherley or HP40

Can't believe what you managed to eat tho. I tried to eat and drink more than usual to compensate for the heat. Lots of Zipvit powder in water plus one gel, and that gel was a struggle. Didn't eat any of the fingers of fudge or any of the shock blocks. oh and 2 paracetamol.

Henry, I'm so glad you posted and remade contact. I've been racking my brains since Calderdale to recall your name and where we communicated. Trawling through my communication records, links and contacts drew a blank. I'll try to remember in future. I can give you a name-check now. :thumbup:

I was amused by the way that everyone I spoke to for directions pretended they'd never even heard Sawb pronounced Sowerby before.

"Excuse me mate, could you direct me to Sowerby Cricket Club please?"
"Where?" Looks at me like i'm an idiot. Long pause. "Oh, SawB"

Visited same gate again today, opened it first time, job's a good un. Probably change the gate fastening mechanism by next year

Well done Henry and congrats on your blog. I missed this years Calderdale and also Hardmoors and most recently an outing on the Heptonstall 7 trigs following a fall on the Wuthering Hike. It's great to get all these perspectives on the long days out and is teeth grindingly frustrating on the road back. (Usually, Nicks` reports keep me up to speed with things but it's great to see an increase in these blogs; I do find them very helpful. Always good reading, informative and often even inspiring.) Sneaking little 10 and 20K trails hoping to get some semblance of order is tough going for me at the moment when all I really wish to do is disappear for a full days outing with the "A" team (or in my case, watch the A team head off quickly into the distance). Hope to catch up with you at Osmotherly? Cheers Henry and well done agin!
