    Re: Todays Bike Ride

Gavia looks very different today. as did Merryfield airfield, where I did my first race of this year last night!

Phew, at last I actually managed to start and finish one... I need to learn how to sprint though, as I should have been placed 2nd behind Harriet (we were working together, trying to liven things up and had been off the front a fair bit) when the stronger sprinter girls came shooting past me aaaaargh!

Any tips and advice re improving my sprinting will be gratefullt received!

I cant give you any advice hann as i aint no sprinter. I climb and descend well. Too little for sprinting. But maybe you might just not be a sprinter like me.
One things for sure , you wont see a sprinter off the front working. You need to stay in the pack until the last minute. Then use those slinky legs of yours to full effect.:thumbup:.
You will get faster the more times you race mind.
    Well done .

Oh and yes gluing gets very sticky and messy. Did it a bit when i was younger and it was a saga. Wouldnt bother now though.

    Rollers for me.
You get a better technique and the turbo just bores me to death. Anyone who says riding rollers doesnt give you a workout is talking rubbish.
Mostly use them in winter mind.

Just thinking they might be handy due to the current shocking bout of weather, and the current limitations I have on time to train. Be very easy to pop upstairs for a quick 45-60 minute work out on days when spare time is short.
