Never done it either, but given that it is 5 miles, starts at The Glaramara Centre and has Glaramara in it's name, I guess it goes up Glaramara by the shortest route and back again!

Unless you think you are going to win why worry? I'm sure there will be a map at the start to give you an idea of the route. Turn up and enjoy, don't fret.

The 6 P's can be quite handy though..."Prior Planning Prevents Piss Poor Performance". Why wouldn't you want to know in advance where you were running? We all have maps at home, it's good to look at them and 'imagine' the route. Or maybe that's a girl thing...........

Did this last year. I think the first and last bit was flagged to go near Thorneywaite farm and then on to the ridge, and the rest was just up and down Glaramara (with a scramble near the top, and then a small loop round to your right off the summit to avoid going back down the scramble). It was easy finding your way up, but a bit trickier on the way back down.

A quick look at a map, the race name and stats tells me that it would be a major surprise if the route did anything other than an out and back to the top of Glaramara.

Where is your sense of adventure?

so you do have a map what about a compass! theres a path to the left harf way up or do you stick to main footpath? then same way down bar from a right turn at top to avoid scramble back down? (dont like going walkabout in the clag)

There were marshalls at the top taking numbers and directing you the right way off the summit. You can't go far wrong!

I've done this twice, possibly three times. It suited me quite well, but it seemed quite easy to get the wrong line on the way down. I'm sure a number of us did both years. Worth noting where you join the ridge on the wya up so that you leave it at right point on the way down. And don't drift to far left as you go down the ridge. Of course, there may be a procession of people to follow.
