    Re: Todays Bike Ride

Called in at samways cycles today to try on a pair of assos bib shorts. They finally have some size small.
Felt really good and ive had them put behind the counter as i forgot my wallet.

They have 2 x pinarellos in there with the electronic shifting. One at nine grand and one at seven grand.
Loads of treks and spezialized bikes.
Be interesting to see what the maintenence issues are with that electronic shifting. I wouldnt pay the price. Prefer to do my own maintenence.

Who makes the electronic shifters daz, campy? Read a while ago that shimano were playing around with the idea. Pricey and more stuff to go wrong.

Shimano is the only one currently on the market with Dura Ace Di2. Ultegra Di2 is following for 2012. Campag do have an electronic groupset that can only be seen on pro tour bikes at present, with I think Movistar being the only team to use it across all there riders. As for a release date? Who knows, they are italian after all

    Hello mate
Eavesy is correct in saying both Shimechano and Campagnolo have models. Shimano are releasing an Ultegra version which will be pitched around £1500. That will def sell.
Give it 3 years and I bet the price will tumble.
The days of setting your index gears will probably be numbered.

No assos shorts for me... as long as I get free bibs from my sponsor and have to wear club kit for racing, I shan't be shelling out vast sums of money on a pair of bibs

But if Daz says they are comfy, I am halfway convinced

Another hot day and another turbo session for me... My new coach type person is trying to get me up to scratch asap and it involves a week of very hard, mainly turbo sessions... Will be interesting to see how the increasingly knackered legs cope tonight!

Turbo sessions will only do a limited amount. Is that training for the track ?
You should be out on the road. There is no substitute for road miles
