Is that you Emmilou?? Thought you'd abandoned us!
I finally put my road bike back together with new chain rings, chain and cassette. Then it started raining...
I'm no badass, just a fairweather cyclist!

Carrot?? It's an "Up and Down Cat & Fiddle Fell Ponies 'A Team' ecologically freindly relay baton" !!
A decent night tonight. Over three hours doing plenty of climbs in the peak district.
Maybe a dozen or more. Was pedalling squares on the way back.
All seated. Legs on fire now.
Thank god ive kept the eurus wheels on.
I am too knackered from the hard training sessions I am being given by my new coach to even post them on here
But the ARE working, as I had a good race on Saturday... it seemed easy, compared to the training I have been doing and I am confident I can do better! On a hard week again this week... but all good, followed up closely by coach, so he can adapt training to how I am feeling/responding to the load![]()
Hann - Do you do a consolidation wek every so often? Or is it just a per session basis - stop when you stop feeling good (easier to control on turbo Or track than when you're 30 miles from home)
I did 51miles last week- do a few lesss this week prob
Not sure what you mean Ratfink?
I am being given specific sessions to do either on the turbo, track or road and I just do them, finish them when they are finished. Last night I had a 30 minute session on the turbo, at 3 beats above my lactate treshold heart rate, in blocks of 5 minutes of low cadence/high power and 5 minutes high cadecence/low power, keeping the HR at 160 throughout. Hard work for 30 minutes... thought the body was going to give up at some point in the penultimate set of 5 minutes, but managed to pull through
Knackered legs as a result at this mornings track session, which was quite hard, but almost felt like a recovery :w00t:
I had an easy week last week, to prepare for last saturdays race, and will have again next week, as I have a two day stage race next weekend![]()
ah yep i meant easy week - but i guess its more complicated when you do lots of races
normally i am training for one main thing - and i build up (in intensity/ distance) for 3 weeks then step back slightly (have an easier week) every 4th week - then taper for main event. but this is only my own plan from reading stuff - and no where near as specific/ hightch as your monster programme!! which sounds amazing. plus stage race :w00t:
I had a one hour thrash around Surrey lanes on a mates 30 year old Motobecane racer. Weighed a ton plus one, had lovely fat tyres, a state of the art 5 speed cassette and very sexy change levers just behind the headstock. Actually all that was ok. Worst bit about it was the rat-trap cages rather than a nice firm clip-in. That was the biggest downside of ancient technology!
