    Hmmmm... latte!

How do you find spinning Daz? Would you reckon it would be good training in winter when the weather is too awful to head out? Never done it before and the nearest gym to me is a good 10 miles away... Does it add to stuff you can do on the rollers or turbo?

Also, what do you think about rotor Q-rings? I have just ordered a set... hoping that it will help with my knee and pedalling efficiency...

    Re: Todays Bike Ride

Got Rotors but not Q's, I wasn't convinced that it would enhance my ability to pedal/spin smoothly. Have tried some asymmetric chain rings and for me I don't think they work, while I do accept there is a reasonable argument for improved efficiency......in some "elite" riders, not sure that would apply to me!!!!
Anyway after a week or two of utter indolence after la marmotte I have just been meandering back on the bike, so 25 and 45 miles weekend before last, rapid 18 and 35 in the week and a good hard 50 on Sunday with lots of climbing, flying up the hills of S Wales at present, it's all about the R3 I reckon!
And......shock, horror, probe, a 5 mile proper fell run on Sat with Wheeze, could hardly walk on Sun, but sitting down on the bike was fine!

    Good climbing Toff

My entry for Three Peaks Cyclocross has been accepted... and I am now contemplating that it may be wise to go for the odd run. Not been for one since the fell relays last year :w00t: I am wary though, as I don't want to blunt my legs for the cycling...

Back from an ace week van camping in North Wales!

Met IDP and some PaddyBucklyAttempting dark Peakers in the Vaynol Camping on Saturday (and enjoyed some good guitar playing scenes in the vaynol pub)

Rode up to pen y pass a few times from llanberis/nant peris

spent 2nd half of week near Hells mouth - rode in to Abersoch a few times for shopping

Rode from Hells mouth to morfa nefyn on the other side of the peninsula (ty coch inn) - 30 miles of loveliness

Bike miles for week a bit down (at 50) - sea swimming time well up!

out to Box Hill on Sunday from Battersea via Carshalton, Woodmansterne and Chipstead - three reps of the zig-zag up Box Hill - and back home. Which is about 50 miles in total I think. Really must get a bike comp ...

That was after running reps up and down Box Hill on Saturday. I do wonder sometimes whether there are easier ways of spending a weekend ...

You thought of doing the BallBuster Duathlon... you'd be well prepared and familiar with the course!

hehe, yeah is that in the spring? Think I stayed shy of it this year cos my riding wouldn't have been strong enough, but next year for sure.

Have you done it? is the running all off road?

Edit: just had a look at the site - they do it in Spring and Autumn, and the running's on the road I see. Bit frustrating that when there are so many good trails round there.

That is something I'd really like to see more off: duathlons consisting of off-road runs and a road bike ride.

Riding a rigid off road left me with a buggered wrist joint from trying to absorb shock with wrist extension (hand bends up). In hindsight my wrists should have been rigid and straight, and the bend comes from the elbow.
