There is a map of the route on the Kendal AC site: http://www.kendalac.co.uk/index.php?page=187

It says on the form u get back confirming entry, that once on the open fell u can take any route as long as u take in the check points in order

Does full body cover mean I have to carry a hat or will the hood on my jacket suffice..........

Been cruising to CP3 and then struggled with that down/up/down from Simon's Seat and over Hazelgill Knott. Going Ok last time until I slipped and started cramping.

Plan to get to CP3 a few minutes slower, probably descend from Arant Haw a little steadier as I've had a tendancy to tear down there. Hopefully then I'll get to the Calf with enough left to enjoy the run in.
Tearing down Arant Haw is one of the joys of this race, a classic fast Howgill descent - nice gradient, kind ground, early in the race.....tailor made for leathering it down and having some proper fun. Yeah you're right, it means perhaps tiring later on but i always think it's worth it because it's just such a lovely run off. Tearing down the flank of AH at the end on that fast path towards Winder is also marvellous, one of the quickest and most joyful descents I know.

Was hoping to do this as am at a wedding in Kirby Lonsdale the day before, but it's a weekend thing and I reckon a pass may not be forthcoming. It's antisocial apparently to bugger off for hours to do a fell race.....

    Enjoy everyone

    PS - can you EoD?

    Re: Sedbergh

This just received from Jon broxap

    Sedbergh Hills Race 21st August

    Entry List

We have over 400 entries and Len will accept entries up till Fridays' post so if you've been dithering, or just disorganised, there's still time with a First Class stamp. An up-to-date Entry List will be posted on PBS website on Thursday - click the banner with the map on it.

    Parking

Please park at Sedbergh School - the same as recent short Champ race. It's free and there are toilets. Do NOT park on Howgill Lane or Havera: access is needed by locals and the milk tanker!

    Registration

All entrants should have received an acceptance letter from Len with a registration form attached. Please complete and exchange your completed registration form for your race number at the appropriate desk in the Peoples Hall.
    Registration will open at 09.00hrs.

    Substitution

We are accepting substitutions for runners entered but unable to compete. Runners wishing to substitute, should ideally bring the acceptance letter of the runner unable to compete, or at least name and Club ,and complete a substitution form at registration. We will NOT take any entries on the day.

    Refreshments

Tea, coffee, flapjack and cake are free to all runners after the race. We do not provide anything more substantial so please bring your own sandwiches or try one of the cafes/pubs in town. Tea and coffee will be available to spectators from about 12.00hrs at a nominal charge.

    Spectators

Access to the fell is via Lockbank Farm only - the race route. Please keep dogs on a lead through the farm and near sheep and close the fell gate behind you.
