Will have a look at the cable tomorrow... and I do need a work stand...

I have just bought some new MTB shoes yesterday, after my first 'proper' cross race, as I find I will need some with aggressive tread and the facility to put spikes in for grip on the runups

    Work stand next

    Yes okay
Err yes you need a workstand.
Well done on your first cross event.

Dont forget if you do get a new cable to get some cable ends. Otherwise you will be kicking yourself for forgetting them and will be cursing your new frayed end.

I've been very touched by PM's from members of the Forum offering to help me out with my broken hanger.I've had offers of bikes, advice & people willing to bring parts along on Sunday. Many, many thanks to you all.My wife is that desperate to get me out of the house on Sunday that she took the kaput hanger 10 miles away to a bike shop & the part should be arriving on Friday....what a girl.Hann, this close to a race I'd get the bike along to your lbs & get them to sprinkle some fairy dust over it & promise yourself that you'll get more proficient wrt repairs over the winter months.

Good news Ian, I'll look out for you on Sunday - as long as Han has got that front mech fixed!

    He doesn't know...

It works again, well seemingly... the overnight WD40 job has done the trick. I now have to try it out actually riding it, tomorrow... But to be on the safe side, it is going to the LBS as well, for a quick look over...
