Bugger not only a 3P clash, which I was aiming to do this year but also a clash with my daughters first birthday !! This will have to be managed very carefully !!

Is it folly to attempt the Fellsman only 6 days later or if following a 3 week taper to the LM does it sound feasible?
    Sounds like folly to me.

I've done the Fellsman two weeks after the 3 Peaks but I wouldn't do it six days after a marathon. I suppose it depends to some extent on how fast you intend doing London.

Folly indeed, but probably feasible. I'm pretty unfit as far as ultra-marathon runners go, but a couple of years ago did the High Peak Marathon, and then a week later the Wuthering Hike, which I finished in a respectable time (faster than the previous time I did it).

I guess you are probably right. It depends on the individual's power of recovery. I remember a couple of years ago somebody doing the 3 Peaks and then London the day after so these things are certainly possible for some people. Not for me though. I did Amsterdam Marathon 3 days ago and if you were to tell me now that I had to do the Fellsman this Saturday I would recoil in terror.

    Folly.
I have accessed my options sensibly and it appears that for the first quarter of 2012 I will be a roadie! I want to do the Fellsman but wouldn't be anything like able to give it 100%, so my place is better taken by someone that can. I have also knocked the HPM and 4 inns on the head for 2012.
Let's hope i manage to raise a decent amount of sponsorship (something else I don't usually do, as I don't agree with giving other people money to do things they enjoy!)

excuse me while i have a little cry

    Re: Fellsman 2012

I did the London Marathon in 2007 and am thinking of doing the Fellsman in 2012. I am also worried I haven't left enough time for recovery, and may give it another 5 years.
