    Re: Todays Bike Ride

Toff, with the new crosser I have 7, with the 29er I'd have 8... I had 8 earlier this year but sold my second track bike and second road bike...

Now the stable looks like this:
Qoroz Race Won Ti road racing bike
    Specialized Tricross cyclocross bike
Qoroz Cross Won Ti cyclocross bike
    Kona Caldera HT MTB
Qoroz Mountain Won 29er Ti 29er MTB
    Dolan Pursuit Champion track bike
    Dahon Helios foldup commuter bike
I also have a Giant TCR aero TT bike,
but it is dismantled and unloved and hanging in the barn. I'd sell it, if I knkew I'd get some money for it, but probably better to keep it just in case...

I love bikes like any 'normal' gilrs loves shoes and handbags.... I don't own any handbags, I do own several pairs of cycling shoes... 2x road/track and 3x off road

I've only got 2 bikes and have just done the summer/winter swap. The 'summer' one went to the LBS on friday for a full over haul, new cables, full service and all that and No Darren, I'm not doing it myself! Should get her back in a week or so all sparkly and new but then it's time to bed her down for the what I'm reckonning on to be a long and cold winter.

    Re: Todays Bike Ride

Why do I need a winter road bike? I ride track and cross in winter and my Ti racer does just as well in winter as in summer with some less slick tyres on?

I was wondering where you put all those bikes, til I came to the mention of the barn. I could do with one of those for all my used running shoes. I certainly empathise with your "abnormal" shopping tendencies. I can't remember when I last bought a pair of town shoes. When my trainers are are too old for running they will still do for walking to the gym and the market. But that still leaves too many for me to trip over everywhere in my house.

I'm with Hann, the 'crosser fitted with Schwalbe Land Cruisers ( 3 peaks tyre of choice ) doubles up as an excellent winter road bike. A pity that mine has not got mudguard and rack eyes! The wife is talking of treating me to some steel studded snow / ice tyres if another severe winter is forecast.
So Han, you did finally get the Ti 'Crosser from Qoroz! Just a tad late for the 3 peaks?
I've considered cocooning the Ti Sportive for the winter; but I just love riding it.

Donkey, I am happy to ride the Qoroz race bike in winter, Ti is Ti, it will cope But if the weather is really grim, I feel safer on the crosser...

Yes, did eventually got the cross bike from them, bit late though and it is the actual frame used by the other test rider for three peaks!!! Mind, beggers can't be choosers and I am getting a good deal on the 29er as well, to make up for things

    Re: Todays Bike Ride

Personally i wouldnt ride my rourke in winter. Nothing to do with getting it grimy etc. I prefer a more relaxed riding position over winter.Less racier. My winter bike has a shorter top tube and a couple of extra spacers fitted so i can relax a bit more. I use std ambrosio rims, lots of spokes.I also prefer a heavier steel frame to soak up the road.Forget mudguards mind. We aint made of sugar. Not clubrun friendly.
