I intend to adopt the philosophy of a Camel and rely on my built in emergency supplies.
I will also use my well known inate sense of direction rather than a compass (or perhaps not)

My map from Lakes Runner has the correct route on it - that is it does not go through the field but continues along the ridgeline, which is a more accurate reflection of the 'Skyline' IMO.
Well unless it says on a packet it has 200 calories who am I to argue but should you show me some super energy rich flapjack I'll pass it, 4 jelly babys or some crackers will not, remember these are emergency foods and as such you should have them at the finish, you should be carrying other food seperately to eat on your run.
There is to be a kitcheck for an undisclosed number at the finish, emergency food is on the kitlist.....!!!![]()
I always use boots go bar, 315 cal, 41g carb, 21 g protein per par, for £1.50.
I carried and ate two last year in the race so this year I will have to carry three and save one, good tasting and they do not get hard in the cold and pull your teeth out, also had a Turkish delight last year towards the end which got me through the last mile of hell.
Thanks for posting the link to race map, got mine today, shows averything you need to know , Great
Kraft/Cadury/Bassets (depending on your age!) have kindly provided 200+ bags of their new mini jelly babies so there will be some extras available for people who aren't fully kitted up.
you'll still have to carry them though! and i'm not sure if Burty will be making an appearance this year...
going to need a bigger bum-bag this year what with the thermal and extra food!
Does anyone know when the decision will be known on whether the field can be expanded to 400 or not? I am carboloading in the hope I may run.
