Sorry guys, but the committee have decided to cancel tomorrow's race due to the conditions on the roads.
It is appreciated that the forecast for tomorrow looks like it isn't going to snow any more after tonight, but the snow that is already lying will still be there in the morning therefore they didn't want anyone travelling in those conditions.

Understandable.
However, as the course has already been flagged (4hrs with hammer and elbow grease... Thanks FL) and with due respect to the weather and commitee, some of us will still be running tomorrow. Seniors only, and unofficial, but if you're up for a great course with friends, we'll see you there. One of us might bring a flask of tea but otherwise come prepared appropriately.
Just take care if care is needed!
For anyone travelling to Fairmile this Sunday, please be aware that we've had a lot of discussions with the local farmers regards access and parking. Poor parking in the past has put this great race in jeopardy so can everyone please leave room for emergency vehicles, tractors and the milk tanker to pass. Hopefully the conditions will remain frozen so that more parking will be available off the road.
many thanks
Alastair
Fairmile is a classic course but unfortunately the parking isn't great unless the ground is frozen. It is one of the locations that may become a victim of the Winter League's success. It is becoming more popular every year, which is great, but increased runner numbers just isn't sustainable. Reducing the number of races that the kids have to do to get a prize is one of the things we've done this year to try and reduce numbers a little, but we might have to be a little more creative in other ways going forward.
Are the races definitely on Sunday, thinking of making my bow in the Kendal winter league?
as fell end clouds was cancelled last sunday, will it be re run at a later date or is it now 6 races to count or still 7? p.s whats conditions like for fairmile sunday roads and fell guess fell is still under snow
