Fantastic little run late on this afternoon, up to Bare House across to the Bycliffe Road then onto Mossdale Scar shooters House and back the same way. Did not see a soul just me and hundreds of rabbits running on top of the snow looking for some thing to eat.

15 miler on the roads (though still with 500ft ascent) around Quernmore (near the Trough of Bowland). Upping the miles for the Edale Skyline, not long to go...

Tonight I had a small flock of rats run over my feet whilst passing a field with a few huge piles of hen sh1t plonked at the side of it......jumped out of my bloody skin!

Thats about what I'm doing each week Ian. According to my garmin 'dashboard' my last five weeks of running are:

    53 miles with 9,671 ft
    37 miles with 5,980 ft
    42.5 miles with 6,764 ft
    45.5 miles with 7,429 ft
    43.5 miles with 6,687 ft

Average is 44.3 miles with 7,306 feet. I'm now also really good at exporting running stats from garmin connect into excel... and the needle on my geekometer is getting dangerously into the red

And Al, surely it was a plague of rats, not a flock? Get your collective nouns right!

Looks like Eel Crag/Crag Hill from the top of Grisedale Pike (or maybe Hopegill Head?).

Easy one but where's this (taken today)?

5 mile speed session including 6 reps up pit tip, (we have to make do with what we have got ) in quite deep snow , then 1 hour in gym, killer session on rower, bike and tredmill, good session and fully recoverd from tuesdays killer on and around Higger Tor, all going well for the skyline.

One word: LETHAL. In all my years of running I have never known it as icy & slippy ont' fells ! 10 miles over the tops from Saltaire to Burley. Took me an hour & a half ! Everything is covered in a blanket of ice. Had a few "bambi moments", but managed not to fall.
