    Hobbsy & JBF

Correct - in 2007 QPR got beaten 5-0 by Southend on the Friday night. I might have known the weekend would only go downhill from there.

The F&G is indeed up for sale but chatting to a few locals this evening they appear confident that a community buy-out will secure the future of this esteemed hostelry.

The real news is that having just returned from The Hare & Hounds in Old Town that although there is quite a bit of ice around there is not yet any sign of snow although it has been constantly drizzling so hope that will not cause too much problem logistics wise if cars come up via Peckett Well. Fingers, toes and anything else crossed !!!!

Ah, thanks Bob, that reminds me...

There are signs up giving advanced warning of roadworks due to start in Mytholmroyd on Saturday. Usually the slightest roadworks results in massive tailbacks along this stretch, sometimes all the way along to Luddendenfoot, so allow plenty of time to allow for any traffic jams if you're coming this way.

As Bob the Dog says, ice may be a problem on the roads. I'll be up there tomorrow, so will get to check it all out, but the route via Pecket Well should be well gritted as it is a bus route. The route via Birchcliffe and Sandy Gate may not be such a wise choice.

No snow currently forecast...am touching wood substitute on my computer desk.

I don't know the area very well and I don't see Pecket Well on the map, so can you clarify? Do you mean it's best to take the Keighley Rd out of Hebden then double back along Akroyd Lane?
    Thanks

Yes that's right. Its Pecket Well at the point you double back.

    Bob
what time's kick off because if you run fast enough, it's possible to get to Blackburn in time for 3. I hope Agent kean is still working his magic and you come away with 3 points.

I was wondering the same thing Suse, not sure how much snow they got yesterday but I think the main issue, if they do decide to cancel, will be getting up to the start, very steep roads to the cricket club and could be dicey:w00t:

Just a dusting of light snow this morning. Everything should be fine. Enjoy your run.

The organiser, kindly assisted by Bob the Dog, is sorting out a revised section at the start to avoid some bad ice (so no records will stand I'm afraid). Flagging is taking place on the Haworth Old Road section as we speak. If that section is deemed too dangerous, a half Trog/bad weather route will be used. As Stagger says, the weather is ok just now, and the forecast doesn't suggest that will change. So a race is 99% certain to be on. . The organiser willl be in touch asap should that position change.

Have a good run y'all tomorrow folks - especially Bob the Dog - do remember driving to the cricket club in '07 & then reading your tale of woe.

I'll be trying to keep my delicate bits warm at the Cock hill road crossing - say Hallo & I may offer you a jaffa cake
