I'm surprised nobody has mentioned Neil Warnock yet. He's available and with his well renowned diplomatic skills should be a shoe in for the England job. We'd not have to worry about midfield, just straight down the field to the big man Crouchy. After all those foreigners don't like it up em.

You have to consider the resources available to him at Everton. He has consistently kept them in mid table security now for a number of years whilst a number of higher spending clubs have wallowed lower down.
One of my favourite managers in the last 25 years has been George Graham. I can enjoy fantastic defending and great organisition as well as attacking flare and GGs Arsenal team was a fantastic team and was still the base for Wenger's early success.
GGs Leeds team was also coming along nicely and he took them from close to relegation to 5th and UEFA Cup. He started with the defence though.
I'd be quite happy with GG, O'Neil, I'd be even happier with Ferguson.
I have always had my reservations about Redknapp back to his West Ham days. Maybe he'll get it and prove me wrong. But I anticipate a Redknapp team that will still include Terry and Lampard and I can't see that bringing us success.
Hart, Richards, Jones, Ferdinand, Cole, Chamberlain, Cleverly, Wilshire, Young, Welbeck, Rooney.
That would be my starting 11 - out with most of the old.
He helped turn Radebe into a first class centre half so in that sense I agree with you. You wouldn't have enjoyed that first season at Leeds though. I think we scored 28 goals all season, tedious viewing if you were a season ticket holder at the time like me. My mate won a small fortune on betting on 0-0 draws. It did get better the next season though after he'd bought Hasselbaink and Kewell was coming through.
Oh yeah. That Leeds team was grim. Molenaar, Hopkin, Halle and co. And of course Alf Inge...

I thought AC MIlan weren't meant to be much cop, that side tonight were pretty damn useful, skilful, quick and actually quite entertaining. Thoroughly deserved the 4-0 victory in fact it should have been more. Well played to the Italians...
I think we'll have an unneeded inquest and gleeful rubbing of hands into state of english football..
Of the big 5 or 6 teams all are in a state of flux..
But United are rebuilning after 2 finals in 3 years,
Chelsea only ever had one team which the legs have gone on
Arsenal are very young
Spurs weren't in and have no experience yet
City have experienced solid players but the CL was just too early in the year for them to have gelled..
Everton have no money
Overall I don't think there is anything majorly wrong with our top 5 or 6 teams.. we then have the Liverpools, Newcastles, etc
So our top 10 is probably as strong as any league in the world.. just the top 2 in Spain are now a step ahead...
