Thursday evening's feral Bat Run saw around one dozen Bowlanders depart Helwith Bridge for P-y-G via the Long Lane. Initially it was quite windy with "moisture in the air". By the base of the Southern Crags the rain was very heavy and the W wind must have been something like 60-70 mph. Parts of the crags were running with water and it was essential to hold on tight - not against falling under the force gravity, but against being blown E and further into Yorkshire. The summit trig was not a place for lingering about for too long
