    Re: Tonight's headtorcher

Its starting to feel like my headtorching season is almost over. I do my evening runs when I get home from work, most often at about 6:15pm, and last night it was almost light when I started and not quite proper dark when I finished. I must admit after what must be a winter of I dunno 70 or 80 odd headtorch evening runs I am really really looking forward to not having to run with my frigging headtorch for a while

And WD its very rarely not like that on Pen y Ghent

In all fairness Stolly, over the last 8 winters of Bat Runs, we've had some cracking, still, clear, starlit evenings on P-y-G ... and one or two "near death" experiences!

A glorious run alongside a moonlit river with the headtorch lighting the way home.

Translates as... Went out too late, but ran down to the river as I'd planned anyway. Bugger all moon and what was there was behind clouds, and I didn't have a headtorch either...

    Great run!

    Re: Tonight's headtorcher

A tempo run head torcher with DT (out in daylight, back in the dark) along the Wharfe to the Friends Meeting House has lifted my spirits tonight. Negative splits are not within my reach at the moment but I now have a target to aim for; 4 minutes to take off a 37 minute run with a negative split thrown in....hum....could this be achieved by the end of March?

Lately work has been getting in the way of running but this is going to stop....grrr! Tomorrow will see us back at the White Lion

Around 18 Bowlanders met at the Langden Intakes for "The Trough Skyline" ... up the UU track past the Intake buildings then N up the open fell to Top o' Blaze Moss, down to the summit of the Trough of Bowland road, Whinns Brow trig, top of the Ouster Rake path, PBW down to Trough Barn, public highway through Sykes to Langden Intakes. Not quite 5 miles but very wet, peaty & tussocky ... Bowland just as it should be.

Haha I stopped wearing those crappy ankle cuddling 'velcro' Walshes ages ago. I couldn't stop turning my ankles in them in fact!

    And now wear 'proper' Walshes
