Front mech on the old Kona is f*cked... think this would do as a repair job:

Might go out for a recovery jog after tea.

    Re: Todays Bike Ride

With yesterday afternoon being very pleasant and the evenings drawing out, went early to Carwags for a daylight bike ride, rather than a dusk Bat-run. Starting ( and finishing ) at the top of Carwags Lane, I headed along the fell road for the descent of Crombleholme Fold and completed the 25.075 miles of the Loud Vale Catchment in exactly 2 hours 10 minutes ... not at all fast and no long climbs, but constant undulations and many short but really steep climbs. Been pondering this route for several weeks and glad to 'tick it off' on a good spring evening. Now have a yardstick to improve on over the summer!

    Re: Todays Bike Ride

I am getting very frustrated, as work is getting in the way of my cycling It is hard at the best of times to fit in training but leaving home at 6 - 7 am and not being back till 9 pm the earliest is starting to get at me... Top that up with free lance translating work to make ends meet that has to be done outside work hours and there is no time left for myself, let alone eat and sleep Feeling run down and knackered and race season has just started

But on the up side, I think I have sorted my bikes now (none of them were working anymore for one reason or another) and will test them all tonight! Not been on the bike since Sundays race

Lovely commute today, 20km and 2 decent hills each way. Not my fastest, but such a nice sunny evening I just had to cruise and smile.

I actually managed to leave work just after 5 today, test rode the three bikes with dodgy front mechs to satisfaction, then cleaned them... Now I need to do an hours training on the turbo :/
