Did it and really enjoyed it :-). Injury free now but no speed in my legs after too long out. Still it at least means i have a better chance of beating my time on the next one. Can't wait. Just a quick question though. I registered and didn't think about it till after I didn't say what club I'm with. Didn't have the vest on as we are new to the area and club so only just joined. Should have the vest in the next week or so. Oh and I ran straight through the river crossings ...... Stepping stones looked a bit slippy to me :-S

no club needs to be registered, there's non listed on the results either. the SS's are slippy but if you are near the front and they are dry it pays to keep your feet dry(and lighter) for the next climb, straight through on the next two crossing though. a word of warning for the future, the river crossing some times need a rope with the water being over a foot above the stepping stones! water can be around you thighs and it's a strong current but it all adds to the fun

if this doesn't work go to the DP photos page/ 2006/ trunce. My favourite picture is the water going over the runners head.

Is it just me or was the organisation even slicker than usual? Amazing job from Andy et al to cope with 291 runners. Its a bloody institution is the Trunce.

PB for me & 13th place despite injury issues so very pleased.

Hope the guy with the suspected broken ankle is ok...not sure staying for a pint before going to hospital was the best idea though...

Thanks :-). I'm a pretty good swimmer but I'd rather not lol. Sounds like a great race. I was talking to a guy at the start with No 1 on his shirt. Wow, now that is commitment to a race. Just seen results and I got points!! Bloody hell didn't expect that :-)

Thanks Ian, very kind. Another few physio sessions and I should have this thing beaten once and for all. So I'm told!

This from a Plumbum FB post. I'm sure he won't mind me quoting as praise where praise is due is worth repeating.

Record turnout tonight. 194 seniors and 45 juniors. Perfect weather may have had a large influence but thanks to all that turned out. What a fantastic job Mark(KingSnail) and Brent(BrentPFR) did to get results out by 8:10pm and on the net by 8:30. The event would not be as successful without Brent, Mark, Martyn and Nicky plus all other helpers
    well done guys
I thought it ran quite slick last night Andy, no big queues at registration. although running back along the road you could see there was a queue going up to the stile at the top of the first steep hill

I was in that queue!! Must go quicker at start next time lol. Well done on the organisation to all involved, I was really impressed with how easy it is to register and the speed of the results. Also thanks to the supporters around the course it makes it so much easier with a little encouragement :-). Especially the 3 guys on top of the hill (bit where we go on private land) one of them had "running sucks" on his t shirt. Their comments made me laugh and they where cheering us on back on the road too. & the lady with the little dog saying "well done" to everyone. She was in two places too. Really looking forward to the rest of the series x.
