Given the amount of training I've not done was pleased to get round intact. Bit of a downer after just 1/2 a mile in when my left calf tightened up so we walked pretty much all the section round the res to the road. Some drugs at the car park CP saw me through and allowed for quite a bit of slow running. My mate lost his sense of humour at the last CP so was a slow trundle back to the hall. Clocked 5 1/2 hours. Enjoyed the day out and happy to get some miles in my legs which should act as a springboard to do some training and get fit & thinner! Met quite a number of people (old & new) before the event - great atmosphere. If anyone from the LDWA happens to read this thread then thanks very much for putting on such a good event. Food stop before Beamsley Beacon wins hands down!

Hi Ady, think I might have chatted to you while coming down Ellarcarr Pike. It struck me you were dressed for speed yet were walking tentatively. Anyway if it was you, well done for not giving up! Our group from York took part in this for the first time and really enjoyed it - lots of lovely people, great weather, superb conditions, lovely grub - and all in for £7. Can't be bad!!!

I couldn't read them ...... some kind of unformatted .xml file? What did you use to view them Martin?

Interesting! They opened as a straightforward Word (.docx) document for me through Windows7/Internet Explorer.
