I was queuing patiently behind around 10 people at that style when a good 8-10 guys decided they couldnt wait another 10 seconds to get by and jumped over the gate, how sportsmanly.

Brilliant race! That was one tough event though! My aim was to finish, and managed it in just over 5 hours, so I am really chuffed with that - not managed to train much due to injuries and was balancing getting well enough to run with the occasional run has been tough. My calf muscles knew about the lack of training after PYG and at around the 13+ mile mark - approaching Whernside they really knew about it.

The best camaraderie I have experienced at a race. I was struggling after the half-way point due to muscle fatigue and getting slower and had a couple of pats on the back and words of encouragement from fellow runners. Makes a difference

Marshalls and water stations and officials were all 10/10 (and the photographer I spoke to near the end approaching Horton) - made a smile on my face with each interaction. Only negative experience was before the race when a I asked a female official if there was anywhere I could obtain some safety pins for my number, whose reply was "I thought that was the kind of thing runners had with them". I asked a different lady official sitting at the desk in the marquee who much more friendlier and useful kindly advised me I had safety pins in my racepack! Thanks

Great day, great memories and I'm looking forward to being able to walk again properly in a weeks time!

Thanks to all involved, officials and runners

As a footnote on the bottle littering, I managed to carry my empty from the last bottle collection point to the top of Ingleborough where I asked a marshall of any way I could dispose of my bottle, he kindly offered to take it off my hands. Thanks to this guy

I scrunched up my empty bottle & wedged it between the strapping on my bum bag.

Asked to? Please expand - I thought it was against the rules, but if an exception was made please let me know.

exact what I did, sqeezed the air out - put the lid on and folded inbetween the strap on my bum bag - then was relieved of it on Ingleborough

Ha, no Eleanor ! It took a bit of effort twisting my bum bag round, scrunching said bottle & wedging. But I think, with practise, I could become quite proficient at it !

Afraid not - there's 2 Nic(k) Barbers, myself without the K for Pennine (I normally go all official on race entries and put 'Nicholas') and the Todmorden Nick Barber with a K. We've only raced each other once I think (Sedbergh Hills last year). Looking at it for next year!

anyone know how long it takes to receive a link for purchased photo's from Sundaysport? I've waited over an hour and the info on the website suggests this should be immediate if requested before 10pm. I'm probably just being impatient
