Last May (during the wedding weekend) Missus and I did 50 miles of the coast path over 3 days. Carried tent and wild camped etc. Did the "end of peninsula" section and enjoyed it greatly. Beggared if I can remember or recommend any individual bits, and we camped "Off piste"!! Just keep away from the major tourist beaches/encampments, you'll be fine.

    Hi Dan,
I was there over the Easter bank hols. Its an amazing place.
Highly recommend the Ty Coch Inn. Smashing pub in a smashing location.

You've got loads of running options too. I ran over Carn Fadryn with one of Kerri's mates. It’s not massive, but you get a great view of the whole peninsula.

Aye, Dan, I second Truck's tip of the Ty Coch Inn outside Morfa Nefyn on the north coast. It's a cool area, and though it can get busy in peak holiday periods it is not an 'oppressive' busyness that you get with the Cheshire set on the south side around Abersoch.
There is a decent campsite at Porth Dinllaen Farm (275405) outside Morfa Nefyn. It is not shown on the OS map so tends to be relatively quite.
Mrs Farmer let us stay for £10 a night for 5 in family tent last year which was very good VFM.
L.P. is a favourite bolt-hole for my family. Started 10 years ago when we were expecting our eldest, and we camped at the Treheli Farm campsite overlooking the west end of Porth Neigwl (Hells Mouth Bay) at 239285 (campsite very basic but tranquil - also unmarked on OS map).
Also nice campsites west of Abedaron on the extreme end of the peninsula - gorgeous sunsets.
Some favourite moments over the years are:
    - getting a load of fresh mackerel (enough to feed an army) from a catch off Aberdaron beach and BBQing back at campsite.
    - exploring the beaches and cliffs of the north coast (some secret spots - tip is not just to head for the sandy bits on the OS map but explore wider).
    - running 'al fresco' at sunrise for a km and back along the beach at Hells Mouth. Who needs Greek or Spanish 'playa nudista' when you've got wales.
    - running around the Abedaron 'peninsula' (see route on Iain's post), and afterwards knocking up a fresh paella on the cliffs.
Great area to mix the coast with the hills / mountains, or to just do the coast for a change.
I could go on and on..sshhh..dont tell anyone....
    Obiwansikobe.
PS. Ive got the OS253, OS254 (1:25,000) and the OS123 (50,000) if you'd like to borrow them Dan.

A few years ago we stopped at Mynydd Mawr. Right at the end of the Llyn. Basic but peaceful and right out of the way.

Maybe see you at the Carneddau. I will be at the back.

Great little site on cliff top fields at Pistyll (above Nefyn)
Access to an isolated 2 mile empty beach, huge view across sea and mountains - not been for a few years but hope it still there
Best place for a beer Ty Coch - on the beach at Morfa Nefyn

It's a devious ploy to get the punters to go with you. We will be elsewhere in Wales this summer on empty beaches (P*mbr*k*sh*r*).
    I love Wales...it's so...Welsh....!
