Thank you. You lot always notice more quickly than I can post an announcement here. Please don't miss this bit:

I must apologise to the Todmorden ladies' team, who should have taken first prize. I did the sums at about 3:30 and just after that Kath Brierley came in to complete the Todmorden team (with Lauren Jeska and Sarah May) and take the prize. Keswick were a close second.

Sorry! Again. Tod will get the championship points.

Short race results are here, btw.

What a right good day out that were watching you lot drag yourselves up Dow Crag. Great effort from The Noor, Daz H churned out the suprise performance of the day. Well done to everyone and il see you all on course somewhere at Loughrigg and Silverhowe after I've tackled the exam mountain

Splits are now available for the Long Duddon too. Sorry that took a while: it's a bit fiddly. Click on yourself for a more detailed view.

and Jon Brox has kindly sent some extra prize vouchers to the Tod team for us.

Does anyone have a picture of the line of runners going up Little Stand?

I did the race for the first time last year, on reaching the top of Hard Knott and looking across to see what was ahead was first impressive and then increasingly worrying as I descended into the valley to begin the climb.

Doing the Long Duddon for the first time this year, any good advice out there in terms of route selection?

Only done it the once so ...

I didn't think there were too many route choices to be made, at least not major ones, there's a few where you can chose to go left or right of a bunch of rocks. The only one I can think of is the decent off White Pike near the end - you cut back left and skirt round rather than take the direct line. I don't know if it saves much time but is easier on the legs.
