The best thing about them (and this is a daft forum to say this sort of thing) is that they look cool as day shoes. I particularly like the wide toe box. They were as at home on the beach and road in Barcelona this week as they were up on the mountain trails of Montserrat.

I suppose I should add that they function really well as barefoot trail shoes. Decent grip, good feedback through the sole. You can remove the insole but I prefer with it in place....wimp. You really do feel sharp pebbles though.

The X talons feel like moon boots by comparison.

One more edit: It took me a good three weeks to get used to zero drop, and that was going from the x talon 212s. Tight calves for a while....forced me to dnf in Windmills Whiz. If you go for it, allow yourself a month before racing if you aren't used to zero drop.
Thanks I'm assuming they grip as well as your talons? I was going to bet some bare grips but everyone I know who has had a pair has worn through the upper really quickly. I love my minimus for light trails and roads so a barefoot shoe that copes with fells and lasts longer than two minutes is high on my list!

I really liked MT101 except the sticky rubber compound and the outsole pattern that got stuck with mud. It´s a really comfy (better than Inov-8) shoe but lacks the grip i´m used to from X-talons and the drop is too high for my taste. When i heard about MT110 i was stunned! It seemed perfect. Lower drop, plastic mesh, better outsole pattern and a new sticky rubber compound. I ordered it the first day it was available i US and used it a lot on snowy winter trails. The shoe preformed great but as soon as snow disappeared i got problems with traction. I think it´s an OK shoe, perhaps the best with price in mind.. I really like the toe box and the thin rock-plate. But i prefer X-talons and F-lites..

In terms of grip, the studs aren't as aggressive as x talons. The Rubber compound seems a little harder too. I've found them fine on fells...have only slipped once and that was taking a corner too quickly on loose gravel...driver error, basically. I'd have slipped whatever I was wearing. The uppers are certainly more robust than Bare Grips.
