Yes.. they gave some out as well at the sheep fold, but you cross a river about 1:30 in.. so a long way with nothing.

Its slightly quicker now, Ifs was talking about Rich taking 1:40+.. I reckon he'd be 1:35-1:40.. my record was 1:45.. think its now low 1:40's but it's a beatable record now.

But if the clag is down its tricky.

Deserves to be a more popular race, a classic route..

Thanks Iain I'm really looking forward to the race, I've had a long run of appalling races and I'm hoping to do well (by my standards) in this.

Gutted...was really hyped for this race and when i get there im told it`s cancelled because of the weather..i was gonna push myself really hard on that to get 1st U23 to....me and fellow denbigh harrier Jon Fleming did a 6mile run up Moel Siabod to make up for it.

did anyone else show up disappointed?

Heard that.. Forecast was nasty, low temps, rain and strong winds and with recent history you can understand extra caution. Wind chill would be pretty severe had anyone got injured, on top of that the race has a nasty nav section of barely 500m.. which most people would have no idea about how to navigate.. it happened when it was the Brits.. runners all over the show...

It's a shame to cancel such a great race but yes, safety comes first. I wish we had some of that nasty weather at the Ennerdale race yesterday. It was unpleasantly warm - for me anyway. Yiannis

Good call by Ross - quite a few went for a run, we got just short of Carnedd Dafydd and found it a struggle to stay upright. We met several others who'd been out and all agreed that it had made sense to call it off. The choice to pull the plug sounded like it was taken after marshals had already been on the mountain - these are experienced runners themselves and they wouldn't take a decision like this lightly.

For me if its just strong winds yet still warm temps, like the Peris, a race should go on. But if its getting down to 5 Deg C or less then the wind chill affect is huge and you can understand shortening or cancelling.. Its also a route where the runner spends a fair amount of time at around 1000m.. not a simple up and down..

Is it a case of cancelled or rescheduled for later in the spring/summer?
