am. 45 minutes up and around the back of Latrigg, then did 4 x 20 second strides afterwards. left some vomit for the tourists at the Skiddaw car park- still ill after a race on Saturday pm. biked about 30 miles with random stops while cheering on some team mates in the carlisle tri club 10k.

Great Dark Peak race last night.
Alport is one of the best, plummeting descents and lung bursting climbs with navigation to boot 7 miles 2000ft.

I really do prefer running when it's grim out

Ben More, Stob Binnein, Beinn Tulechain, and Cruach Ardrain yesterday 18.3km 2106m

Beinn a'chroin, Beinn Chabhair, and An Caisteal this morning 17.2km 1611m

Felt pretty good yesterday, less so this morning. Probably because it wasn't raining. Regardless after a solid 6 weeks of feeling rubbish and struggling it's good to have a bit of life in the legs.

am. 50 minutes on road/trail, pretty flat, steady pace (around 6.30-6.45). did a lower body weights session afterwards. pm. went to killington sports, ran the course as a warm up, then came 3rd in the race behind tom addison & danny parkinson, decent uphill, awful downhill (couldn't see-need glasses!). ran for another 20 mins on the road, then did a fartlek back of 2 mins hard, 1 minute easy, then 10 minutes easy. all in all a good session of about 10 1/2 miles including warming up and down.

    Re: Today's Training

am. 90 horrible minutes in greystoke forest with the rest of the boys from border harriers, never ran here before. basically 2 45 minute loops ending in a 3/4 mile hill after each loop. started out at 6.30's, soon dropped to 6.00's, then 5.30-45's. last 10 minutes was pure survival. slept for 5 hours once i got home....pm. 20 minute "shakeout" in fields, very slow, ran with 13 year old brother!
