Lets not forget it's the Trunce tomorrow
I've lost 5lbs so hoping it's made a difference, conditions could be a bit slippy but it will be the same for all. bring it on.

Just marked junior course so been to 1st crossing. Most stones under water, but only just, so expect wet feet. Football field OK for parking so long as no wheel spinning. If anyone has problems please help by giving them a push. Don't want to upset Oxspring Football team or Parish Council. Thanks in anticipation.

Missed my 1st one of the season last night :-(. Woke up full of cold and even though hoped till last min it would be ok it was not to be. Still cough, cough, splutter today. Luckily did 11mls round Ladybower on Sunday training for the lake district half so don't feel too bad having to have a couple of days off. Gutted to of missed the Trunce though as I really enjoy that. Hope all had a great run x

You'd have got a good result..poss PB. just over half what normally turns up, obviously watching the match.

I hate football so it wasn't that. Now it may be a problem during the Tour De France :-). Believe me though it wouldn't of been a pb if only me there as I can't breathe well on walking. Would of had to call an ambulance at mile 2 :-/

    Re: Trunce

T'was my first one of the series last night.

I decided just to 'potter round', so got a personal worst (barring my first ever - race 6 - 2009, when I ran it in road-shoes after a two day deluge)
The plus point was that one of our ladies followed me & got a 'PB', overtaking me just before the railway bridge so it was a good day for helping:thumbup:

Plus we had two first-time ladies there, but I didn't see them after the finish, but will find out what they thought

Didn't quite expect there to be still that much water in the Don either!

I'll have to try & pick up the pace a bit at race 8 & get closer to my uisual times

A big thankyou to Lisa Hinchcliffe for not complainng when I used her as my pace-maker. I'm sure I thanked her at the finish, but if not, I'll say it here on open forum

    Re: Trunce

That's the third one in a row I've missed :-(. First one full of cold then on the morning of the 2nd July was involved in an RTA that wrote off both vehicles and didn't do much for me either. Was hoping to be able to be able to play in this one but knee and shoulder not quite right as shown by an embarrassing performance at the Bamford carnival race where i lived up to my forum name :-S, so thought better of it. I will be back at the next one though ...... I hope. Love this race.

I saw one of them at the Club-run last night, & she loved it! (said the other girl did too)

They can't wait for the next one, & hope to be there

First trunce tonight in over a year - really missed them! Not a great time, but hopefully back for no.9 to run a sub-30min. Thanks to Plumbum and all for making it all happen.
