How's the High Brown Knoll training going then Trig? I'll be in Heptonstall later on - about 5ish (?) (running from work in Brierley along the Widdop road past the dam to Heptonstall Junior school.)

Training has slipped following a fathers day (weekend) trip to London - not much running but saw Henry V at The Globe and got some good ideas for inspirational start line speeches.....

    Hi Trig
My training has totally slipped, no excuses. I guess hill reps are in order, are you doing them this week?

Could run the Festival route at 6 tomorrow - even better than hills reps - then back to see the game at the Cross???

Did you actually run the route before England's last win? If 'yes' then you've now put yourself in the position of having set up a ritual. If you don't run the route before every match and then go to the Cross for rehydration purposes then you England might lose against Italy! :closed:

    Hi Steve
As a RO. What's your position with regard to runners missing CPs? Do you go for the DNF/DQ option....or are you inclined towards the time penalty school of thought?

Having had some direct experience of this (ie DQ at Res Bogs today) I think it has to be DQ; harsh but fair - otherwise how would you calculate the penalties to avoid tactical missing of CPs???
This does put emphasis on having a robust checking mechansim (and making sure all are made aware of the consequences before the race)
Fair cop today. I genuinely had nt realised my error until you kindly pointed it out at the finish as I prematurely celebrated my 13th place! GRRRRRR
