Good news for West Yorkshire. I think Dewsbury Parkrun was due to kick off this morning. Did anyone do it?

As Bill McClaren might have said "They'll be dancing in the streets of Heckmondwike tonight"

Have you got shares in Park Run Danbert?

Not as close as the results suggest Sparth

Keep up the good work Master - Yours is my favourite course of all the local parkruns.

King Witton Canutes views on parkrun will soon be consigned to the past along with space hoppers and packets of crisps with the salt inside a twist of blue paper.:w00t:

Just spotted Burnage parkrun page is up and running. It starts on July the 21st, apparently.

Popped down to London for the weekend to see the Diamond League athletics, and took in Wimbledon Common Park Run while I was down there. Fantastic little course, very friendly people and to be honest, it served the purpose of getting out for a training run perfectly. Couldn't see any races on while I was down there so it didn't take away from the local running economy.

I think these are brilliant, long may they continue. I do lots of fell races big & small each year, and only a handful of park runs. Most people I meet either do similar, or never race anyway so where's the harm?

And they get lots of folk out who otherwise wouldn't be doing very much exercise on a Saturday morning!!

I have an occasional browse at the list of 'this weeks winners' on the Parkrun site and noticed that the winner in Glasgow this week was a certain Tom Owens....so if the likes of Tom (& of course CbT) benefit from them then they more than worth doing, that said I've only run 3 so far.

(as an aside CbT, Wimbledon Common was one of my Dad's old stomping grounds back in the mid-late 50's, along with Richmond Park)
