    Re: Wasdale

If anyone is coming through Ambleside between now and this race (July 15), would they mind picking up the Wasdale Trophy which needs returning? Many thanks. I could drop it off at Lakes Climber & Runner in Ambleside if you sent me a text a couple of days before. Cheers, Ben. 07896151179.

    Hi Ben,

I'd be happy to do it if you find no one else in the meantime. Going up on the Friday before the race, whether I do the race or not, and can easily go via Ambleside.

Just let me know if I'm needed.

Does anyone have a link/copy/scan of a slightly more up-to-date version of the map on the CFRA website? Much as I like it I'd like to see some lines!

Don't worry, I'm not going to print it, I just want to geek it, I'll buy a PBS one on the day.

This link that Stevefoster put up in Car Sharing seems to just about cover it.

In a moment of madness I've asked and been given permission ('er indoors) to do this. Now, I have little knowledge of this area (leg 3 support once and a BG I did 3 years ago). Is it a race that has obvious trods? I'll sort a map with the route and will be more than able to follow on my own, just seeing if I'm biting off more than I can chew. I don't really run more than 10 miles. I've raced myself quite fit this year, so I'm hoping this will get me round. Should I do it?

    Narr, dont bother Phil.
Get on the ale and watch the tour live on Eurosport.
You will suffer about the same.

Hmmm, well I'm officially allowed now. No rest and an iffy knee (but good drugs) will, hopefully, get me round. Not joining the party Trev and Fleetster? Going to try and persuade a Keswick posse to join me, but I imagine Carl (Bell) won't need much persuasion to race...

Should I carry water, or can I assume it'll be wet en-route?
