It looks a little bit dry from Seatallan past Pillar on my map are the little becks drinkable? I expect they'll still be flowing....Is it worth taking water from the start or picking it up on the way round?
Some photos from yesterday - Wasdale 2012
Huge thanks to Richard Eastman and everyone who helped for another grand day out. My own special thanks to Peter Ferris for the salted cashews after Esk Hause - without them I would probably still be there, fighting cramp.![]()
Ditto Ian, thanks to all for making it a grand day out. My first Wasdale and the last one in set for me to complete the Lakeland Classics![]()
There were plenty of excellent becks for collecting water here and it meant the litre of electrolyte stuff i had in my platypus lasted until just before the summit of Scafell Pike. Also good water on the Kirk Fell traverse and on the way up to Esk Hause. This is the best superlong i can think of for water on the course.
excellent day out, nigh on perfect conditions (though the bloke ahead of me at Scafell Pike who ended up at Mikledore may not agree!). Thanks to all involved in organising, especially the marshals for what can be a long day - glad the weather held out for you like it did me last year!
Wasdale pics up now, some start, most up by sprinklin' tarn

What a day out that was. Fantastic route, surprisingly good weather and great company all the way round. Even the agonizing cramp from Seatallan onwards couldn't spoil it.
Thanks to the organisers and marshalls, particularly the ones on Gable who let 5 or 6 of us through just outside the limit.
Mark from Cumberland Fell runners. Don't know if you come on here ? If you do thanks for the company from Gable onwards. Think there may have been 1 or maybe 2 more DNF if we hadn't hooked up.
Nice to meet Dynamo Dan, hitthenorth and Mary on the drive up
Heres to next year. Maybe.
results etc?
