Nick, really sorry to hear you're not going to be able to make the race. Hope you're better soon. Rick (Williams)

Well!!!That was good!! Stunning result for me, even if I do say so myself! Can't quiet believe it!! 11.37 I think, 87th overall and 4the Vet50!!! Possible the best race I've ever done reults wise! I've been quicker, and I've been better placed. But given the course and my expectations I'm overjoyed! Hope everyone else had a great day too!!

What a tremendoos run from Tracy Dean. This was her debut long distance Trail race and not only did she win the race in a new record time of 8hrs 38 minutes ( 1hour 15 quicker than the previous record) She was 5th overall out of 450 finishers. Well deserved following great preperation that included 3 full recce of the route

I had a great day out, 15hours last year and 9:41 this year 22nd place didn't even need to use my headtorch. Not sure why this years was so much quicker but I did suffer in last years heat. Felt good into the early 30's then started to cramp a bit.
Shame they got the start wrong and left us short on mileage, my garmin recorded 47.36 miles.
Other than that another great event with great people.

By the way. I agree, a bit irratating that the start was a mess up. I assume two laps of the field were required. I had 48.37 miles.

13:04:52 and 177th for me in the 50 and I'm chuffed with that for my first ultra. I had a ropey first half starting badly sleep deprived and a bit sorry for myself with a negative attitude that persisted until Mardale and had me wondering if I'd finish at all. It all came together funnily enough as it got harder and I made up 40 odd places in the second half. Positives were getting the eating and drinking thing quite well wired, teaming up with Emma, and managing to keep up a "relentless forward progress" thing for the later harder hours avoiding the temptation to slow to a crawl, hang out at checkpoints etc.

I'm well knackered today and the drive back to Manchester has left me crippled :w00t:

Well done to TFG and Steve F - awesome times that put my paltry efforts to shame. Great to see Mark L powering on to the finish too and to bump in to my mate Riccardo at Chapel Stile who went on to get round the 100 after a bitter disappointment DNFing at 90 miles last year

Great atmosphere and camaraderie throughout and humbling as ever to see what volunteers are willing to do to facilitate our fun

Time to self reward with a couple of beers now

    cheers, P
