    Re: Being chased by dogs

Oh for god's sake!! We've been here countless times before. Some dog owners are irresponsible and should be locked up. The majority are ok.

Everyone has the right to feel safe and not get attacked by a dog. Those of us that control our dogs and make sure that they aren't a menace can't do anything about those that don't. If you aren't happy with the way someone's dog behaves, tell them or report them! If any of us get attacked by dogs then we need to deal with it in the same way as if we get attacked by humans. Do what you can to get away safely then report it and let the police sort it out.

Those of us who choose not to own dogs are reasonably entitled to expect NEVER to be molested by the livestock of those who have chosen otherwise.

i suggest that if and when you are next confronted by a growling unpleasant canine you simply do your best to kick it to death.
He would've eaten a baby, but we couldn't find one.

Sometimes posts on this forum have the capacity to make my jaw hit the floor... this is even beyond the stupidity of the last time we trawled through this and some alarmist t**t recommended carrying pepper spray. I'm sure no-one would be so stupid as to follow this advice but, with the sharp bitey things all dogs have and the tenaciousness some dogs have, you're likely to exacerbate the situation and come off far worse.

I used to work in a quarantine kennels and got set upon by an Akita.. despite two people wading into it with sticks, boots and a jet hose it refused to let go of my arm. Fortunately I was wearing a very thick quilted jacket. It was only whacking a fast acting sedative into its arse that finally did the job.

Listen to what Hes is saying and lets not rake over all of this again...

Can anybody recommend a really powerful yet cheap and obviously light weight HEADTORCH and, whilst we are on the topic of things which get us all really very over excited, am I the only one to notice that INOV8 soles DONT WEAR as well as they used to? I think that should cover it, oh no - WORLD PEACE, anybody any suggestions?

    I did tell you!...................

I saw a slavering dog with a runners ar$e cheek in his mouth being chased at night by a herd of crazed freisians. It was only because he had a Ptezl 3 million CP head torch and Inov-8 bootees that he was able to stay ahead....until the bootees wore out on his third lap of the Bob Graham whereupon he was hoofed to death. But then the cows could not find their way home coz they were crap navigators. (WHAT was in that cheese I just had?????!)

My dog did the Great Lakes Run and he didn't carry any kit at all - in fact I don't even think he can use a map and compass...

I bet he folded his number, moaned about the price of race entries, said how much better things were in the old days and that the BGR route is the equivalent of a motorway now.

Can anyone recommend an establishment from which I can obtain a syringe full of fast-acting sedative?

He did fold his number. He even had the temerity to say "Who the f*ck is Pete Bland anyway?" as he did it. I tried telling him, but by that point he was hanging from another runners arse and disfiguring a small child with his paw. I blame his testicles.

Could Bret introduce a "Great Firewall of China" and ban words like "dog"
